Casper 2.0

Due to the world ending, I took my wife out for what will probably be our last meal out for awhile. We drove to Jake's Burgers in Hague SK, about 50km away and enjoyed a great meal together, virtually alone in the restaurant. I filled up casper2.0 for $10 (78.9l) and drove home super slow because there was no traffic really. I never let him get above 3200 rpm or 70kph indicated and filled up again just before home. Casper made 44.5 mpg after doing the math. I can only guess that with a standard tranny he might break 60mpg, but I really love not stomping on a clutch.
Today my company announced the closing of our retail locations. I would love to be at home working on Casper, but they have decided to keep the commercial portion of our business open so I am still employed, for now. Good luck to everyone affected by this weirdness, I hope to see you all on the other side.

I think I'm going to have a stab at a 200 horsepower engine. I have another engine just sitting here and I'm still young enough to want to try.

Found a piece of factory goodness that will go in when I get my time off. Would anyone know what the single white wire with an RCA jack on it for?

I don't suppose there is a manufacturer's name anywhere on it or serial number? I think it might be a Pioneer because they use SX model on some of their units. Can you show a pic of the back?

clarion was a huge supplier for japanese oem audio . the clarion cassette deck from my isuzu is wired identical to the suzuki wiring...and vice-versa.
i pulled a stereo from a 'vert (aftermarket pioneer w/ aftermarket adapter to oem dash plug-in ) installed into isuzu, complete plug and play. it even was wired for the power ant on the isuzu.
in the '90s alot of the electronics were the same in japanese production lines.
oem speakers were made by clarion as well.
i think i have an '87 with an oem cassette deck. most likely a great paperweight.

I ordered replacement dash speakers from Megazip, they were Clarion. They still have side and hatch speakers available as well. This is the first time I have encountered a factory plug in the back of a single din player.

Paul, I think that might be from a Mk1. I don't recall any in the 89-91 that I had that look like that. They look like this...

This is from Megazip and it shows as 92-94 but looks like the same as the ones I've seen in the 89-91's

Megazip says 92-94. They don't show 89-91. My Mk2 verts had similar units. No stock units I have had in any Mk2 looked like yours. I'm not saying it isn't from one, I've just never seen that style in a Mk2.

I'm not trying to be a party pooper Paul but I know you like to be accurate.

The first 2 from an 85. These I got from a Russian site and they are Japanese writing (i think).

These next ones are the same as what was in my mom's 89 4 door, 2 of my verts and 1 GT parts car I got. The site I got these pics from (name at the bottom of the pics) sells the brochure for each model year of the Mk2-3. The last 2 pics are from the brochure I paid for so they are higher resolution.

89 + cars got single ''din'' size stereos, (or radio delete plates) the metro dash can fit a double din. pre '89 were shaft style stereos, iirc.
my '87 had a SPARKOMATIC ( ha ha old can tire garbage !) shaft style stereo with built in eq! wow! top of the line for '87! but, i put a din style in there no problem- there were weird adaptors , from shaft to din mounting. the dash hole is din sized in my '87- maybe someone cut it out really nice? :-/

Now getting back to my original question, can anyone offer what the white wire with the female RCA jack is for?

I dropped Casper2.0 off with Competition Muffler to have the head pipe straightened to accommodate an underbody brace, a 2" in 2 1/4" out resonator added midship and can hung on the end. It's time to respect the neighbours.
