i was in a similar situation last year; just out of the blue i was shit canned after 13 years...no mention of wage roll backs or hours cut, just straight out laid off...not even a 5 minute talk with the two owners and i was told to pack my tools and leave.... spineless employers ....saw one of them the other day in home depot and he could not spin fast enough on his heels to avoid me....spineless person.
it took me awhile to find work, but the major issue , was their were ALOT of high end, long-time people that many places let go , due to this '' covid '' bullshit...so any places hiring wanted the skilled worker, but at starting wages....i was competing with other people that had lost their jobs, and employers could be really picky.
i would drop off resumes , and in this small town people know you, and alot of the same responses....we cant afford to pay someone with your experience, we are looking for people to train....
so i found a job with a company i have used before , thru my previous job...dropped of that resume and they called me back later that day , asking if i could start the next day...
but that took months of sending out resumes. their were SO MANY people looking for work after the covid hoax.
started the new job at half the pay, no benefits, no nothing. just a paycheck. that was after being out of work for 5 ~ 6 months. that sounds like a short time, but felt like an eternity...had to use up my rrsps to stay afloat..
but now, i have a 40 hr job, weekends off, and good coworkers, that arent a pack of backstabbing drunks.
keep your head up ! i know you will be able to find something !
