Casper 2.0

i was in a similar situation last year; just out of the blue i was shit canned after 13 years...no mention of wage roll backs or hours cut, just straight out laid off...not even a 5 minute talk with the two owners and i was told to pack my tools and leave.... spineless employers ....saw one of them the other day in home depot and he could not spin fast enough on his heels to avoid me....spineless person.

it took me awhile to find work, but the major issue , was their were ALOT of high end, long-time people that many places let go , due to this '' covid '' bullshit...so any places hiring wanted the skilled worker, but at starting wages....i was competing with other people that had lost their jobs, and employers could be really picky.
i would drop off resumes , and in this small town people know you, and alot of the same responses....we cant afford to pay someone with your experience, we are looking for people to train....
so i found a job with a company i have used before , thru my previous job...dropped of that resume and they called me back later that day , asking if i could start the next day...
but that took months of sending out resumes. their were SO MANY people looking for work after the covid hoax.
started the new job at half the pay, no benefits, no nothing. just a paycheck. that was after being out of work for 5 ~ 6 months. that sounds like a short time, but felt like an eternity...had to use up my rrsps to stay afloat..

but now, i have a 40 hr job, weekends off, and good coworkers, that arent a pack of backstabbing drunks.

keep your head up ! i know you will be able to find something !

Yep, I got let go when the covid hoax hit too. I gave them 15years of my life and no thanks for your hard work Just clean out your stuff within an hour...I saved them over $1M on projects... they underpaid me when I started by $300k over the 15 year run. Yeah... I got the well things are tight and we are cutting back... but it was the older guys they let go. I got the last laugh when the whole place went under 3 months later. I stayed due to benefits they offered and I only had 1 year to go to get my 5th week of vacation. I lost that all.

Yeah, took me 4 or 5 months to land another one with better pay and benefits but only 2 weeks vacation... had to travel out of town for it, and worse work environment.

i was hired under the ''road builders association'' so they could legally work me 16 hrs a day, 6 days a week....due to the short construction season that we have here ...i was hired as a labourer 13 years ago, but worked my way thru the ranks, to shop bitch / mechanic/ scapegoat...

i had alot of responsibilities that were put on me, sure the money was decent for a stay near home job, but it just got to be do more and more, with the owners doing less and less, letting the drunks get away with all sorts of shit , but the guys that were there every day , got shit on all the time...
they would scold the good employees for having drs appointments during the ''work week'', they wanted you to schedule your dr for winter , when you were not working for them (laid off)...

jokes on them now, the mechanic they hire to fix their stuff , costs them $150 an hour.....and he is not there at a moments notice, like they way they had it when i worked for them.

sometimes the person themselves needs a '' hard reset'' to actually see what was going on, and where you and more importantly, your health, was going...

I suffered a vaccine injury. I can't use my left arm like I used to before I got the AZ vaccine. It aches constantly where I got the shot and my hand won't stop tingling. I lost my job because I can't climb ladders, or reach above my head, or hold anything more than a few pounds with it anymore.
Please, if you're going to shop at Amazon anyway click on the link. I made $1.43 cents yesterday. That's the most money I have made since July 26th. Please just use the link, or give it to people you know that shop at Amazon https://amzn.to/3bE8h7Y

Anyone got an oil pump pick up they can spare? I'm just trying to keep busy

Mike sent me the oil pump pick up and the lost oil pan was replaced so the bottom is all buttoned up. Next the harness will go on and the other accessories plus a few missing hoses https://youtu.be/grKSRgj7QXI

I trimmed the timing cover today. Live and learn. The MKI head is shorter than the MKII and the cam is positioned about 30mm lower so the timing covers do not swap at the top end but it's all the same on the bottom. I'm running the OBD2 wide round tooth timing belt and pulleys so I had to use a timing cover from a 96+ G10 that Cody Bunting sold me . I also swapped the 10mm head crank pulley bolts for the 8mm heads. I'd like to run an aluminum water pump pulley.
Things I will need for it include the alternator carriage bolt, the upper and lower alternator brackets from a 1996 or newer G10 and a 4 rib alternator pulley, the 96+ timing belt tensioner quadrant adjuster bolt and washer(the weird one that extends through the timing cover) a 6 tooth 5 bolt OBD2 crank timing gear.

Money I stole? Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha!!!!!!! My receipts show that you owe me thousands. This is typical Paul. Makes a deal then berates the seller because the 35 year old part isn't factory fresh.

You pestered the body shop to the point they would no longer answer your calls. You had no money to get the work done so I stepped in and paid 3/4 of the cost.

You were told by Scott where to pick up the parts but you did not grab them. They are still sitting where he said they were.

I have an understanding now why your family won't talk to you.
