Increased Forum Spam

Hi Guys,

I just wanted to say that you may see some increased spam activity, this is intentional oddly enough so don't worry. The deal is that I have been manually approving each and every member and it has developed a massive backlog and it is very difficult to sort through to determine which are legit and which are not. I think it is harming the forum and preventing legitimate users from joining easily. I have tried all manner of ways to limit the spammers and none of them are foolproof, so for now I'm removing the requirement to have admin approval for each user to join and I have activated all of the backlogged users of which I'm sure quite a few are spammers we have already seen a few. However, we also gained a few valid ones as well. Anyhow for now I'm going to see how this goes, and I'll try to stay on top of the forum to get rid of the spammers that do pop up. In any case, thanks for hanging in there guys I really appreciate all your contributions to the forum.

Sincerely,
Ivan

I think it's a good move. We need some new players.
I noticed a few new YouTube vids this year, there are still parties
out there with recent interest and projects.
I'm sure there are more who can contribute, would be nice
to have some new fresh contributions to the site.

For sure! So far I haven't had to much trouble keeping up with the spammers, I had to add some new firewall rules awhile back because we were overrun, I also paid someone to help me with configuring some stuff on here and since then things have been super solid. Many thanks to those of you who have donated so that I can do things like that.
