I wish! Well sorta in the pic before this I posted something that is kinda interesting but has also turned out to be a letdown.

Yes it is, I am definitely still planning to finish the car. I just joke because the only posts I've made in awhile were parts acquisitions. I've actually spared ya'll from most of them. But hopefully soon I'll have some real progress to report we will see how this year goes. I've set an arbitrary goal of having it done this year as far as the drive train but that may be to ambitious with my life at the moment.

I haven’t really done anything on this for awhile life keeps getting in the way. I did spend some money though. I had Joel rebuild a couple of transmissions for me.

Cases were completely blasted and cleaned, then all new seals, syncros, 1/2 hub, etc. I also had the two covers powder coated in black. I think it came out really nice, it wasn't really anything I did I just paid for it, but it's done and now ready for install. One more piece of the puzzle. I did have one of Bali's torsion diffs put in one of them that is going in this car, the other one will go on the shelf for the black 93 GT.

I had a bit of trouble sourcing actual GT transmissions special thanks to [usermention=54]@Murf[/usermention] and littleMSG for the help with that.

The Bali LSD is on my list, but won't happen this summer. I hope you get your vehicle up and running so you can let me know how you like it before I drop a grand + on it.

Yeah it's definitely not cheap, it cost me $1573.71 just for the one transmission all in with the LSD not including the cost of the transmission itself, or the clutch etc. This is just for shipping both ways out to joel, parts and labor from Joel, cleaning and powder coating, the LSD, and the rebuild kit with the bearings and syncros etc. I am using an ACT clutch setup which runs around $350 as well. So that's darn near close to 2K just for the transmission and we haven't even talked about if I'm doing anything with the flywheel yet. :-o :-o :-o Ooof! It adds up really fast.

But I'm going for quality and what I really want with this car, so I have been taking my time and not skipping things. Hopefully I'll like it. I think [usermention=48]@Teeth[/usermention] has one that he likes I've heard good things so we'll see.

The big thing that's left to start getting done is the engine which needs a couple more things and then to go to the machine shop. My work has started back up again so I need a cheap commuter vehicle while I work on the swift, we've just been using the Sienna as our only vehicle for the past year and a half or so since I've been working from home. Anyhow picked up a cheap Mazda5 for 2,250 with 215,000 miles on it to use for now so we'll see how I like that it's a manual transmission good on gas, and roomy enough to haul some kids around in.

I would love another Bali LSD. Does anyone have contact info?
It's been quite a few years since I sourced one, since it only fit the
Euro trans, I had a ball fitting it into the American T3 trans.
I remember, I received it in an empty Diet Coke 12 pack box.
Appreciate any update on this gem.

Is Torsen similar? Balázs Szarvas sells them on Facebook. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pIA7oJZC_94

Unfortunately I can already tell the mirror bracket that moves the mirror behind is already broken as the mirror wobbles but I’m still pleased that I was able to get it just means I still need to get my 3D printed brackets made.

Those mirror brackets are broken a lot.
It would be awesome if they can be reproduced

I'm planning to make them, but you know like all things I plan to do it takes me forever to accomplish it lol.

First time in the fresh air for about 3 years. But we are moving so had to dig it out to address it. No time to fiddle with it so had it trailered to a shop for a transmission swap and to get it running again. Wish I could do the work but to busy with the move. No time to work on it but it will be drivable again which will be awesome and hopefully one of these days I’ll get my engine built and get that swapped in with my other fancy bits.

And it’s alive!!! Unfortunately when I went to pick it up it was getting dark and we found that the taillights are not working anymore. Did not have enough time to troubleshoot other than checking fuses so had to leave it there for now. Any tips on what to check for? A bit disappointed I didn’t get to drive it home, but it sure was good to hear it running again.
