Weatherstripping / Window Seals?

Anybody been able to come up with OEM replacements or something that can be retrofitted? Both of my windows wobble like crazy backwards/forwards and left/right when rolling them up and down, and they don't seat nicely in the fully raised position. I've got some cheap eBay cranks coming because the threads on my original ones were totally stripped, but I'll need to totally redo the seals in the door shell itself. Maybe they're called Window Guides? For now, I've jerry-rigged some Neoprene closed cell foam... but it's nowhere near what it should be acoustically. I suspect I'll also need to take out the window motors as my driver's one is buggered. :(

window felt guides may fit from a 2006 case 445 skidsteer….. old ford trucks used the same-ish felt guides as well.

Hmmm would love some photos/part numbers if you've got any to share. I don't mind investing in a solution provided you've had some good luck with them before! I'll definitely be needing inside/outside sets of everything holding/guiding the window from top to bottom.

I may be wrong but I would think the metal pieces that the felt attaches to are still in place. You would just need to re-felt and align them.

the felt guides have a lip that fit the metal tracks/guides in the doors.
on my '87 the felts are still good, but had slipped down into the door.
I peeled them out at the tops, used some ''pematex right stuff'' silicone to secure them at the top, then rolled up the windows to hold it in place.

I think we're talking about 2 different things. The ones I'm talking about are under the weatherstrip at the bottom of the window opening. I'm not sure if they came on the Mk1. It's been a long time since I had one.

Far as I can tell, the entire window/seal/felt/rubber system could use an overhaul. Any photos you folks have would be extremely helpful as I start trying to deal with the rattling and fuss.

Yeah, I have an '88 Pontiac Firefly and I'm missing the weatherstrip that would fit in the vertical metal tracks/guides, or the ones that would keep the glass from rattling side to side. When the windows are closed they don't rattle because I still have the weatherstrip inside the top of the door. However, when I'm going down the highway it sounds as if the windows were open because without those weatherstrips it's not airtight. I went to a GM dealer to see if I could get them. I was calling them "window seals". They didn't have it, but the guy gave me the part number and what the "window seals" are called, or some key search words anyways. The part number was 96052796 and he wrote down "Run, front door glass" and "Channel". From the bit of searching I have done, the part number hasn't turned up anything, but I have found that the proper term (or at least what it seems to typically be called) for the "window seals" seems to be "door window glass channel". So unfortunately I haven't found anything yet, but maybe this will help you.
So what I'm going to try now is going to an auto wreckers and see if they have a firefly that still has this weatherstrip. Unfortunately the only firefly they have is a '99, and I don't know if the window glass channel would fit on my '88, although I would think it probably won't. But does anyone here know? I may still go down and give it a shot, and if it doesn't work I'll see if I can found some old Fords there and see if their weather strips work, which is what blueturbofly said. So I was wondering if blueturbofly could tell me what years of Ford trucks might work, that would help narrow down my search. Thanks.
And if none of that works I'll take measurements of my weatherstrip that I do have and see if I can get some of the same size.

Do you mean these one's?
