Well, this GT is called Bandit due to it was stolen from the owner, then to an impound yard then bought and bondo and paint(Very cheap) then sat for like 10 years… mouse hotel. :beaten:
So removed all interior cleaned and wiped down… still smell like mouse… soon plan on a fog. Would start and run but ran bad. Bought new tires and cleaned older Vison aftermarket wheels bought a missing replacement Vison hub cap. 120 on 3 cylinder and 130 on number one, to 150 with a wet test. Found non-working number #1 cylinder…ended up being the injector…not working. Put a spare injector in… all cylinders firing… what a kick, really moves even with bad compression. But got a wheel balance check… it was off. Still bad vibration, took it back in bad front wheel bearings… None in town at three different auto parts stores… ordered them from RockAuot. Timken 510018. The 510018 this is the cross over number for the 1.3 DOHV GT. The plane 1.3 or 1.0 use a 510001. It I am off, on this please let me know.
So now I am now in the process of pulling off the front hubs to pound out and pound in new bearsing…Whew you are up to date. Man I want to get this car going again it is a royal kick to drive. :-)

Post some pictures. Good to see another GT be brought back to life. I would suggest using a press to remove the wheel bearing. In my opinion they don’t quite hammer out like a Metro wheel bearing.

The heater fan was not working…in the switch.
Some PO had put after market AC in, then a new PO had torn half of it out. So I took the rest out and just went to regular heat. Got all the parts for factory AC but will put that in next summer.
Anyway replaced the heat/vent control switch and cable switches… now have heat. Still need to do some work to the heater fan assembly as it is not fitting flush against the top.

Takes place of the where AC cooler unit would go.

Well finally got the old front wheel bearing out.

New bearing in what pain fell apart a bit trying to get it in. New $80 bearing install kit did not have the correct parts to fit our Suzuki bearing had to jerry-rig a fit to get something to work.

Once the bearing was in put the inner seal in. What a asdlkfjaldjlkadjf royal pain  Even after having it in the freezer for a few hours did not help. So left it in over night. and chamfered the edge of the spindle and finally got it in.

Snap right in.

Next is the outer seal and then the hub pressed in.

Try and get pictures in… just not working right now.

I would not try to replace our bearings without a press. Even after years of pressing things off I have to improvise with make shift apparatus to press thing apart and back together. I make sure that I don’t over press the bearing back in and that I’m only using the outer race to press back in. I use the torque wrench to pull it into to place the last 1/64″. I had to buy a really sharp two piece collar plate to get the outer seal off the spindle. The O.E.M. bearing came with a ridge that allows that outer seal to be pulled off much easier. I have put forty tons on some of the bearings to press them out. That is always scary even with eye protection.

Finally get it going and have a pesky vibration. Tire shop finally narrows it down to an out of roundness in one new tire from the factory
Now :-( I have to try and get a factory authorized dealer or Amazon(who I bought the tires from) to get me a replacement tire :bored: and wait another week or more. I have to work out of town all next week. :doubt:
